           Kirk Scholars Program

The Zylphia Shu-En Kirk Scholars study two years or 16 hours of Mandarin Chinese. With a grade of B or better in these cources, they then receive a partial stipend to study in China in May and June for four weeks. 

While in China, the Kirk Scholars continue their language studies and travel the country, visiting sites such as the Great Wall; Tiananmen Square; the Forbidden City; and cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and some other ones. After completion of the summer course, the student will have a minor in chineese language with 20 semester hours of credit.


 

2010-2011 Important Dates:

One or two slots of the scholarship will be awarded to prospective freshmen as part of their application to RU

October 5, 2009 - Mid-Autumn Festival
February 27, 2010 - Chinese New Year Festival, 7pm, Bondurant Auditorium
