The Zylphia Shu-En Kirk Scholars Program allows select RU students to study Mandarin Chinese for two semesters then travel to China in May and June for four weeks.

While in China, the Kirk Scholars continue their language studies and travel the country, visiting sites such as the Great Wall; Tiananmen Square; the Forbidden City; and cities such as Beijing, Huangzhou, Xian, and Shanghai.

Each year, RU sends a group of approximately 15 students and two faculty members to China to travel as Kirk Scholars.  If you are interested in applying, please visit the remainder of our website.

Thank you/Xie xie to Brittany Bland, 2008-2009 Kirk Scholar Intern, and Ximin Li, 2008 Graduate Assistant for
